The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 25 Oakland Avenue just after midnight on 3/15/13. The first unit arrived on scene at 00:02 AM. Heavy fire was showing from much of the house. The house was determined to be abandoned. Firefighting operations were started from the outside of the residence. Hose lines were also in place to protect an adjacent house from the fire.
Once the fire was controlled, crews entered the structure to complete a search as well as extinguish spot fires. The search found no one inside the house. The house is considered a total loss. According to neighbors, no one has lived in the house for several years.
The DFD Fire Marshal's Office is continuing the investigation into the cause of the fire.
The Fire Department dispatched three engines, one ladder, and two support vehicles. 15 personnel were on the scene for approximately two hours.
