On 6-2-13 at 1552 hours Station 1 units responded to the Dan River behind 601 Bridge Street. On scene they found a goose trapped in a pile of debris located in the middle of the river. Crews took the necessary safety measures and then proceeded towards the location of the trapped goose. Once the rescue team reached the trapped goose, they were able to start removing debris from around the goose's head which was trapped. Once the debris were removed, the goose was able to fly away. Rescue crews were thankful that the goose did not seem to be injured.
