At 15:03 hours this evening the Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire located at 323 East Thomas Street. Three engines, one aerial apparatus, one safety unit, and one command vehicle responded to the incident with a total of 16 personnel. The first arriving engine found smoke showing from the rear of the home. After further investigation, they found heavy fire coming from a door on the right side of the home. The fire was under control within 25 minutes. The home suffered heavy smoke and fire damage, as a result the majority of the occupant's property was lost. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants.The fire was caused due to unattended cooking. There we no civilian or fire service injuries. Units were on the scene for one hour and 47 minutes. Captain J.
