At 7:23 this morning the Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire located at 1255 Paxton Street. Three engines, one aerial apparatus, one safety unit, and one command vehicle responded to the incident with a total of 17 personnel. The first arriving engine found moderate smoke coming from the window on the second story of a two story home. A small fire was found on the second story and extinguished quickly. A search for victims resulted in none found. The fire was under control within 10 minutes. The home suffered minor smoke, water and fire damage. The home was vacant and being remodeled at the time of the fire. After an investigation by the Fire Marshal, it was determined the cause of the fire was improperly discarded smoking materials.
