At 3:12 am this morning the Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at 1205 North Main St. First arriving unit reported heavy fire showing from the back of the house. Fire lines were deployed to the back of the structure and the outside fire was knocked down. This was followed up by a line through the front door and the remainder of the fire was extinguished. Searches were made and the home was determined to be vacant. There were no injuries. The department responded with 3 engines, 1 ladder truck, a Command Officer and a Safety Officer. A total of 16 fire personnel were on the scene for just over three hours making sure all hidden fire was found and extinguished. The house sustained heavy damage from fire to about 50% of the structure and water, heat and smoke damage to the remainder of the structure. The Fire Marshal's office determined the fire to be incendiary in nature will be investigating it further.
