The Danville Fire Department, Police Department, and the Life Saving Crew responded to a house fire at a little before 3 today. On arrival found an unoccupied house with very heavy smoke and fire showing. The roof had collapsed into the building and hampered access to the fire. 17 Firefighters on 3 Engines, a Ladder, and 4 support vehicles had the majority of the fire knocked down in 30-40 minutes. They remained on scene for almost 2 more hours putting out hidden fires and hotspots. There were no injuries and the house suffered heavy structural damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
