The Danville responded to a reported structure fire at 123 Barrett St on Saturday October the third at 06:53 am. Response included three engines, one Ladder truck, a command unit and a safety officer. Upon arrival firefighters found a residential structure with heavy smoke pushing out of the attic and around the roof line. Crews made entry into the structure and made an interior attic to contain the fire and extinguish. There were two occupants at home when the fire started and both were outside and safe when crews arrived on scene. The occupants were displaced and have made arrangements for shelter elsewhere. The residence received extensive damage and is uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshall's office.
