The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on fire at 135 Reuben Court, Lot 19, today at 2:53pm. The first arriving engine reported heavy smoke conditions at a single-wide trailer. The occupant was outside and advised Engine 6 no one was inside the residence. Fire crews controlled the fire in 15 minutes. A search of the trailer confirmed no one was inside the house. The trailer received significant fire and smoke damage and is not livable. The occupant will be staying with a family member. The Fire Marshal's Office investigated the fire and concluded the fire was not intentional. The fire was started by faulty wiring.
The DFD responded with 3 engines(Westover Dr., Piney Forest Rd., West Main St.), 1 ladder(Lynn St.), and 4 support vehicles(Lynn St.). 16 personnel remained on scene for a little under 3 hours. There were no injuries.
