The Danville Fire Department received a call for a possible structure fire at 209 Scales Street this morning at 10:36 am. Three Engines, One Ladder, and two support vehicles initially responded with 16 personnel. The responding fire companies arrived to find a large amount of smoke coming from all sides of the structure. It was quickly determined that no one was in the home at that time. Crews entered the home and found heavy fire involvement in the living room and hallway. The fire was controlled rapidly while crews conducted a search for possible extension into other areas and the attic space of the home. There was extensive smoke and heat damage to the entire house. The Fire Marshall’s office responded and is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. There were no injuries. The three residents of the home are being assisted by the local Red Cross. Personnel were on scene for 3 hours and 54 minutes.
