The Danville Fire Department has joined forces with God’s Storehouse to collect nonperishable food for distribution to customers in the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County.
On Tuesday April 28, 2020 at 2:00PM, the fire department will hang a thermometer banner to track pounds of food collected during their initiative. The Fire Department has set a goal of 35, 000 pounds of food to donate to God’s Storehouse.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, distributions have increased at God’s Storehouse.
God’s storehouse usually depend on the “Stamp out Hunger” Postal Service food drive to increase its donations however, the event has been postponed.
