Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 811 Tamworth Dr. at approximately 6 pm. Upon arrival crews found a residential structure with heavy smoke showing from the outside. They were met in the front yard by the occupant who advised that everyone was outside and accounted for. Crews made entry and located a fire on the first floor extending to the attic. Crews worked for about thirty minutes extinguishing the fire and then began checking for extension. The structure received heavy fire and smoke damage throughout the house.The cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking. One person was displaced and will be staying with friends. Danville Fire Department responded three engines, one ladder truck, one safety officer and a chief officer. Units were on scene for approximately two hours and fifteen minutes. No injuries were reported.
