The Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle that struck a building at 7:15 pm. Apparatus arrived and found damage to the front of the Laundry Land at 824 Westover Drive. The vehicle involved had moved away from the building and was parked in the front lot. The occupant of the car was not injured. One employee inside the business was injured and was transported to SOVAH by the Danville Life Saving Crew with non-life threatening injuries.
On duty members of the Technical Rescue Team and firefighters built "T" posts to support the front of the building. We used plywood to cover the opening until the the building manager can get someone to work on the building. The DFD responded with three engines, one ladder, and two support vehicles. Apparatus remained on scene for one hour and fifty minutes.
The Danville Police Department handled the crash investigation.
