The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 105 Shannon at 2:55 am this morning. Crews arrived on scene to find a single story residential structure with heavy fire showing from the rear and roof of the structure. All occupants were out of the structure at the time of arrival. Units pulled attack lines and set a ladder truck up to suppress the fire. The residence is total loss. Two adults and five children were displaced and the American Red Cross is assisting them with temporary shelter. Four engines, one ladder truck a safety officer and a chief officer responded. The Danville Life Saving Crew as well as the Danville Police Department and the City Utilities department assisted. Crews are still on the scene hitting hot spots and working to determine a cause of the fire.
