The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 216 Jefferson Ave. Upon arrival crews found a two story residential structure with smoke showing from the basement windows on the left side of the structure. The building is under renovation and unoccupied. Crews entered the basement and found a significant amount of fire that they were able to extinguish . Crews also found a small amount of fire that had extended into the first floor that was extinguished as well. Damage to the structure was moderate, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the departments Fire Marshalls' office. Three engines, one ladder truck, a safety officer and a battalion chief responded. The Danville Life Saving Crew and the Danville Police Department were on scene assisting as well.
