The Danville Fire Department Responded to a reported structure fire at 314 Mt Cross Rd. at 3:30pm this afternoon. Upon arrival crews found a single story commercial structure with heavy smoke inside. Crews made entry and located a small fire in the back of the structure that was quickly extinguished. Additional crews searched the building and located a dog, and removed it to the outside. Resuscitative efforts were provided to the dog and the owner transported the dog to a local veterinary clinic for treatment. Further disposition of the dog is unknown at this time. Three engines, one ladder truck a safety officer and a chief officer responded, units were on scene for an hour and fifteen minutes. No injuries were reported. The Fire Marshall's office is investigating the cause of the fire. The business received minor fire damage with moderate smoke damage throughout the structure.
