The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at the RCATT building located on Slayton Ave. @ 2:02 PM. The DFD responded with 4 engines, 1 ladder truck, 2 support units, and 1 command unit. Upon arrival, E7(Airport Station) reported smoke coming from the roof line. Upon further investigation, E7 determined the fire was smoldering in fiber board located between the outside metal of the buildings exterior and the interior block wall. The facility personnel were evacuated and crews then accessed the area by removing the roof flashing and some of the exterior metal covering the walls. The Fire Marshal arrived on scene and later determined the cause to be a faulty exterior electrical outlet. DFD crews were on scene for approximately two hours, thirty minutes. No injuries were reported and damage to the building was minimal. DLSC was also on scene to assist with firefighter rehab.
