The Danville Fire Department (DFD) responded to a house fire today, December 1st, 2022 at 2035 Westover Drive. The fire department was alerted to a house on fire at approximately 0830. Upon arrival of the first fire department unit (Engine 6) it was marked as a "working fire", with fire coming from the front corner of the house. All human occupants escaped the fire prior to the fire department's arrival. The home had extensive damage to the room where the fire originated from and extension into the attic and second floor. The fire was safely extinguished with no injuries or fatalities. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical. The Danville Fire Department responded with four engine companies, a Ladder company, two fire marshals, a safety officer, a command unit, and additional support vehicles.
The Danville Police Department provided traffic control, and scene safety. The Danville Life Saving Crew responded with an ambulance, a medic unit, and a support vehicle, they provided medical support for the fire department and for the occupants, they also provided drone coverage for the scene. The utility department controlled the electricity and gas going to the house.
