The Danville Fire Department responded to 212 Parkway Drive to the report of a house fire. E-6, E-2, L-1, E-4, Hazmat-2, Battalion 1, Chief 3, and Fire marshal 3 responded. A total of 19 fire department personnel were on scene during the incident to mitigate the emergency. Upon arrival E-6 discovered fire in the front room of the home. E-6 made entry to the home and discovered a moderate amount of fire in the office/yoga room. E-6 was able to contain the fire to the room of origin and put the fire out. The occupant was able to safely exit the home. The home had extensive fire and smoke damage, and the occupant will be displaced until repairs can be made.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. Further questions can be directed to the Danville Fire Marshal's office.
Other agencies responding: The Danville Life Saving Crew was on scene and provided medical monitoring for firefighters. The Danville Police department provided traffic control. The gas department and electric department were on scene to control their respective services.
No injuries occurred during this incident.
