The Fourth of July is an excellent opportunity to express your patriotism and to celebrate our Country's independence. However, the Danville Fire Department would like to remind the citizens of Danville that the sale and discharge of fireworks within the city limits without a permit is against city ordinance. Keep in mind that fireworks are not safe in the hands of the average consumer. It is important to note that consumer fireworks can be dangerous, not only to the user but to surrounding property and bystanders, especially children. Sparklers can reach a temperature of 1200 degrees Fahrenheit at the tip which is hot enough to cause third degree burns.
The Danville Fire Department would like to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July holiday and we strongly encourage citizens to attend professional, public fireworks displays and avoid using fireworks themselves.
- The Danville Otterbots will have a fireworks display Monday July 3rd after the ball game.
- The City of Danville will celebrate July 4th at the Carrington Pavilion with music, children’s activities, food trucks, commercial vendors and other entertainment followed by a spectacular fireworks display from the Martin Luther King Bridge. The event starts at 6:00PM
