Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 188 Noel Ave today at 505pm. Units arrived to find smoke and fire coming from the windows on two ends of the house, it was reported that no one was at home. E4 (West Main station) was first to arrive and was able to keep fire in check until other units arrived on scene. At that time an interior attack was made by crews as well as a search to confirm no one was in the structure. Danville Fire Department responded with 3 engines, 1 ladder truck, 1 Safety Officer and 1 Battalion Chief along with Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville PD and Utilities Department. The home sustained heavy fire damage to one of the bedrooms and moderate smoke damage to the rest of the house. The Fire Marshall was called to investigate the cause of the fire. The occupants and their dog, which was saved from the fire, will be staying with family.
