The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 47 Oak Ridge Ave. this morning at 12:19 A.M. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the single story residence. Fire personnel began to extinguish the fire and check the interior of the home for any occupants. All occupants were located safely outside of the home. The residence sustained heavy damage to the interior and will not be occupied until substantial repairs are made.
The Danville Fire Department responded with 3 Engines, 1 Aerial, 1 Command unit, 1 Safety unit initially with 1 additional Engine and 1 Fire Marshal called later for assistance. 19 personnel responded and operated on scene for approximately 2.5 hours. The DFD was assisted on scene by Danville Electric Dept., Water and Gas, Danville Life Saving Crew, and Danville PD. The occupants of the home will be staying with family members.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's office.
