On Sunday December 15, at 9:21 AM Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 167 Canterbury Rd. Chief 4 was the first unit on scene and found a two story home with smoke visible. Chief 4 investigated to find an exterior fire that was spreading to the enclosed front porch of the home. Other units arrived on scene and began operations. The occupants and one pet self evacuated. A fire hose line was extended and the fire was extinguished with minimal damage to the home itself.
Danville fire Department responded with 4 Engines, 1 Ladder truck, Battalion 1, and Safety 1. Units remained on scene for approximately 1 hour. Danville Fire Department was assisted by Danville Live Saving Crew, Danville PD, Electric Department and the Gas Department. The fire was determined to be accidental.
