The Danville Police Department is investigating after multiple vehicles were broken into resulting in thefts that occurred in the 200 block of Riverside Drive at the Danville Family YMCA parking lot late Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the YMCA for a report of victims stating their car windows were broken and items were removed from their vehicles.
Two males were seen on video exiting a white SUV and looking into cars before ultimately breaking into the victim’s vehicles and taking personal items. The SUV looped through the parking lot several times before the incidents took place. An image of the vehicle is attached. Soon after the incidents, credit cards taken from a victim were used in Guildford County, North Carolina.
This investigation remains ongoing.
When exiting a vehicle, even if briefly, take every precaution to secure personal items and belongings out of view. Lock the vehicle and remove the keys.
