Danville-VA.gov has been recognized as a 2010 Top Government Website Award recipient by online encyclopedia and reference resource Juggle.com for its e-government and communication initiatives. Award recipients receive a feature page on Juggle.com that includes an interview with one of the individuals responsible for maintaining or managing each website.
This year’s recipients applied innovative web technology in order to provide citizens with greater access to government information and services. Danville-VA.gov is one of several government portals embracing the commitment to e-government services making it easier to find government information.
“We want our website patrons to be able to access the correct information easily,” said Danville’s Director of Information Technology, Inez Harville. “So, we offer a broad range of online services through integration with other systems.”
Award finalists offer an array of features and functionality that cause them to surpass websites in their class. The Juggle.com government awards editors hand-selected this year’s Top Government Award recipients by evaluating a variety of site features and functionality, including usability, timely content, access to online government services and technological innovation.
“The website is truly a team effort, and we hope our residents view it as an important resource regarding city services,” said Harville.
