Danville Parks and Recreation announces that Joseph Zappacosta will join the Danville Public Library staff as library director. Zappacosta is expected to start Oct. 1 and will bring a wealth of experience and education to the position.
"I am grateful for being given the opportunity to become the library director of the Danville Public Library,” he said. “I am enthusiastic about making a positive contribution to the library and the community. I look forward to meeting everyone and working with the staff of the library and the Parks and Recreation Department."
Zappacosta most recently served as library director within the Halifax County – South Boston Public Library System. Prior to that designation, he was the director of Ephrata Public Library in Ephrata, Penn. In all, Zappacosta has garnered more than 10 years of experience in public libraries and education, serving in both administrative and professional capacities.

Zappacosta holds a master’s degree in library and information science from Drexel University and a bachelor’s degree in library science from Kutztown University.
