The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality has asked the City of Danville to host a public meeting on Tuesday, March 18, regarding the coal ash spill and the response from Virginia agencies.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on the fourth floor of the Municipal Building, which is located at 427 Patton St.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide a public update on how Virginia state agencies are responding and their planned next steps. The DEQ will lead the meeting. Representatives from DEQ, the state Health Department, and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will attend and answer questions.
