The Riverview Rotary Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. This year’s theme is "Christmas Future." The grand marshals will be children of the Rotarians.
The parade route will begin at the intersection of Main Street and Broad Street, continue on Main Street toward Craghead Street, turn onto Craghead Street and ends at the Community Market.
Two performance areas have been established. The first area will be at First Presbyterian Church on Main Street, where the judges will be located. The other area will be at Golden Leaf Bistro on Craghead Street.
The parade route will be closed to traffic beginning at 6:30 p.m. All residents, business owners and visitors to the downtown area are asked to remove their cars no later than 6 p.m. The streets affected include Broad Street, Cleveland Street, Rison Street, Main Street from Broad to Memorial Drive, and Craghead Street and Memorial Drive from Main Street to the Community Market.
The inaugural Jingle Bell/Ugly Sweater Fun Run will take place along the parade route. The run is free and open to anyone. Interested runners must arrive at Main and Broad streets before the 6:45 p.m. race start. There is no registration or packet pickup.
