Installation of the Danville Art Trail will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, with the first pieces being placed at 500 Main St. and the Crossing at the Dan.
The seven pieces that will make up the trail will be on display for 18 months. Locations include the Main Street Plaza, Danville Public Library, Union Street Dam Overlook, Danville Science Center and the Museum of Fine Arts and History.
To celebrate the new 2.5-mile trail, a guided walking tour will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The tour is free and open to the public. Registration is required, however. Call (434) 799-5215.
The Danville Art Trail is funded in partly by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, along with Danville Regional Foundation, Danville Regional Medical Center and City of Danville.
