The City of Danville will hold another public hearing on Wednesday, April 29, regarding the location and design of proposed widening improvements to Mount Cross Road between Lowes Drive and the city limits.
The hearing will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the second floor conference room at the Municipal Building, which is located at 427 Patton St.
In Phase I of this project, the city proposes to widen Mount Cross Road to four lanes from Lowes Drive to Parker Road. The purpose of the widening is to improve traffic flow, relieve congestion and improve pedestrian facilities in the area.
The major design features will be available for further review at the hearing, as well as information about property impact, relocation assistance and tentative construction schedules.
In addition, the environmental documentation will be available for review. The environmental documentation includes information concerning potential effects of the proposed project on properties listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
Citizens also may review this information at the Public Works Department’s engineering office. The office is located at 427 Patton St. Please call ahead at 799-5019 to ensure appropriate personnel are available to answer your questions.
