Experience the golden age of Flamenco as it was danced and performed by icons of the genre like Antonio Gades, Jose Greco and the great Antonio. Accompanied by live orchestra, José Porcel and his company of dancers embody classic Flamenco, recalling all its breathtaking spectacle — authentic and brilliant choreography, eye-popping costumes and beguiling, seductive music. OLD 97 RAIL DAYS

Where: Danville Science Center, 677 Craghead St., Danville, VA
Attention train buffs: Enjoy N-scale model trains as they travel through tiny towns and rural areas courtesy of numerous N-scale clubs. Trains run and weave along multi-layer tracks crossing artistic landscapes of mountains, valleys and rivers. Also visit the Science Center’s fully restored 1948 Norfolk & Western Caboose along the train tracks. Be sure to check out a miniature version of the Old 97 wreck scene in the center’s historic train station as well as the model train gallery, featuring the Jack Estlow train layout. At 5 p.m., three prizes will be given for the most creative chalk art that shows how much you love Danville. This event is free and open to the public and Danvillians of all ages are welcome to join.
