Everybody’s workin’ for the weekend! No plans yet? Don't worry! Here are the best things to do in Danville this weekend. Ready? Let’s go!

The weather forecast for the weekend calls for a soggy weekend, so we lead this week’s list with indoor options for entertainment. The list also includes outdoor activities, but check with event organizers about their status due to the rain.


“YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN”

When: 7:30 P.M. through Saturday
Where: Pritchett Auditorium, Averett University main campus, 420 West Main Street, Danville, VA

Averett’s Theatre for Young People Series presents this musical comedy based on the popular cartoon characters in “Peanuts,” a comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Tickets are available at the door. FLAMENCO FIRE

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: George Washington High School auditorium, 701 Broad Street, Danville, VA

Experience the golden age of Flamenco as it was danced and performed by icons of the genre like Antonio Gades, Jose Greco and the great Antonio. Accompanied by live orchestra, José Porcel and his company of dancers embody classic Flamenco, recalling all its breathtaking spectacle — authentic and brilliant choreography, eye-popping costumes and beguiling, seductive music. OLD 97 RAIL DAYS

When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.- 2p.m. Sunday
Where: Danville Science Center, 677 Craghead St., Danville, VA

Attention train buffs: Enjoy N-scale model trains as they travel through tiny towns and rural areas courtesy of numerous N-scale clubs. Trains run and weave along multi-layer tracks crossing artistic landscapes of mountains, valleys and rivers. Also visit the Science Center’s fully restored 1948 Norfolk & Western Caboose along the train tracks. Be sure to check out a miniature version of the Old 97 wreck scene in the center’s historic train station as well as the model train gallery, featuring the Jack Estlow train layout. CHALK IT UP

When: 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Saturday
Where: JTI Fountain, Main Street Plaza, Danville, VA

Danville By Choice and Danville Parks & Recreation will host a community chalk event. Come on down to grab some chalk and let your creative juices flow! At 5 p.m., three prizes will be given for the most creative chalk art that shows how much you love Danville. This event is free and open to the public and Danvillians of all ages are welcome to join. Danville By Choice is a social meet-up/informational group for those who love Danville and want to see it thrive! 25TH ANNUAL DANVILLE PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY FAIR

When: Through Saturday
Where: Danville Pittsylvania County Fairgrounds, 1861 Milton Hwy, Ringgold, VA

Come celebrate 25 years of fun and excitement at the 2015 Annual Fair! This year’s event continues through Saturday, Sept. 26. This weekend, the fair features extreme a demolition derby at 7:30 p.m. on both on Friday and Saturday. James E. Strates Shows runs a midway featuring your favorite rides, games and shows. HEACOCK CLASSIC GOLD CUP HISTORIC RACES

When: 8 a.m. Friday through Sunday
