Parks and Recreation is seeking public input in planning for the future of the Danville Art Trail. Citizens can share their views by taking part in a survey at www.playdanvilleva.com.
The brief survey consists of four questions.
The Art Trail opened in April and is an 18-month exhibit of outdoor sculptures in public places, combined with murals, Victorian architecture, and points of interest. Art is located within a one-mile radius of the JTI Fountain at 111 Main St.
Seven engaging sculptures crafted by six artists are a part of the art-on-loan exhibit funded, in part, by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, along with Danville Regional Foundation, Danville Regional Medical Center, and the City of Danville.
The theme of the exhibit is “Imagine”, so exercise your imagination as you visit the Art Trail on foot, by bicycle or tour by car.
An online brochure at www.playdanville.va.com will provide a map of the trail, locations of the art pieces, and information about the pieces and the artists.
