The Danville Planning Commission on Monday re-elected Michael Scearce to serve as chairman for 2016. The vote was unanimous.
The board also re-elected Bruce Wilson as vice chairman and Ann Sasser Evans as secretary.
The commission is a seven-member board appointed by the City Council to review applications, hold public hearings, and make recommendations on rezoning applications, special use permit applications and zoning code amendment applications. Recommendations are sent to City Council for final action.
The commission also reviews and has authority to approve or deny major subdivision plats.
Meetings are held on the first Monday after the first Tuesday of every month as needed in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. River City TV airs the meetings. In other action on Monday, the Commission voted unanimously to recommend denial of a special use permit that would allow for the operation of a convenience store and deli at 541 North Main St. KFG Properties LLC requested the permit.
