On Monday, April 18, the City of Danville will close one block of Craghead Street from Wilson Street to Newton Street to allow for installation of temporary streetlights. The work is scheduled for one day only.
The lane closures will be in place from 8 a.m. to noon.
Detour signs will be in place to redirect traffic. Motorists are urged to slow down when approaching this area and be alert to altered traffic patterns or consider an alternate route.
The installation of the temporary streetlights will provide lighting for the area during the streetscape project. The streetscape project began on March 24 with the installation of a storm drain to mitigate flooding along the street. The project also includes utility upgrades and replacement of sidewalks and curb and gutter.
The project will take seven to eight months to complete. Lanes closures will be intermittent throughout the project.
