Parks and Recreation’s Summer Movie Series will continue at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 29 at Carrington Pavilion with the 2013 American 3D computer animated, musical fantasy-comedy film “Frozen.”
The film features the voices of Kristen Bell as Anna and Idina Menzel as her old sister Elsa the Snow Queen, in both speaking and singing roles. It was met with widespread acclaim from critics and audiences, and some critics considered “Frozen” to be the best Disney animated feature film and musical since the studio’s renaissance era.
The movie tells the story of when the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister, Anna, teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition.
The movie is free and will play outside on a 20-foot screen. The concession stand will be open. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. If case of rain, the movie will be shown inside the Coates Recreation Center on Westover Drive.
The Summer Movie Series has been revamped this year and instead of all movies being shown in Ballou Park, they will me scattered throughout the city. Here is the remaining lineup:
• August 20, Inside Out, in Ballou Park.
• August 26, To Kill a Mockingbird, on Main Street.
