Paving operations will require alternating lane closures Wednesday, Nov. 16, on Craghead Street from Patton Street to Newton Street. Motorists are urged to slow down and be alert to altered traffic patterns or consider an alternate route.
The work is one of the final steps of the third phase of streetscape improvements in the River District. Construction began on March 28 and is expected to be completed by mid-December, weather permitting.
The third phase included the installation of storm drains to mitigate flooding along the street. The project also included utility upgrades, replacement of sidewalks and curb and gutter, and installation of amenities such as trees, benches and new lighting. Work crews are in the process of completing the installation of brick pavers on the sidewalk, as well as the landscaping amenities.
