Danville City Youth Council met on Tuesday to discuss project ideas for the term and will begin work over the next month to determine the feasibility of the ideas.
Possible projects included a “Pieces of Peace” day, which would feature a community art piece and would be held in conjunction with the Danville Farmers’ Market with the goal of bringing the community together in a place that is safe and inviting; a joint meeting between students, city council and the school board; a youth dodgeball tournament at the City Auditorium Gymnasium followed by a comic/event; and/or a sports night at the Auditorium open to area high school students with food and music.
At the next Youth Council meeting, set for 4 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the City Auditorium, students intend to select a project or projects.
