With Pittsylvania County Schools graduation ceremonies set for Friday evening and Saturday at Averett University’s north campus, the Danville Police Department reminds motorists to expect heavy traffic in the area.
Gretna High School’s graduation ceremony takes place at 7 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, Chatham High School’s graduation is scheduled at 9 a.m., followed by Dan River High School at 1 p.m. and Tunstall High School at 6 p.m.
Heavy traffic along Mount Cross Road, as well as Piedmont Drive, Riverside Drive and Westover Drive, is expected prior to and following each graduation, police said on Tuesday. Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution and allow ample time to reach their destination.
