Returning to its roots, Danville Harvest Jubilee will feature a tobacco auctioneer demonstration on Friday, Oct. 13, sponsored by JTI Leaf Services Inc.
The demonstration, set to take the stage prior to national recording artist Trace Adkins, will feature renown auctioneers Sandy Houston, John Kessler, Mac Burnette, Ralph Tyndall and Mitch Ashby.
Danville Harvest Jubilee began in 1980 as “Victorian Danville Weekend” and evolved into a multifaceted event including food events, national entertainment and family activities. The celebration also included the World Tobacco Auctioneering Championship for many years.
This year’s demonstration will celebrate that heritage and provide concert goers the opportunity to experience a piece of Danville’s history.
Gates at the Carrington Pavilion open at 6 p.m. Tickets, on sale now, cost $27.50 for lawn seating. The reserved section has been sold out. Purchase tickets, while they last, online at www.DanvilleHarvestJubilee.org, at the Danville Welcome Center or by calling (434) 793-4636.
