Danville’s Festival in the Park presented by URW Community Federal Credit Union returns for its 43rd year May 18-20 in historic Ballou Park. This year’s three-day event once again features children’s rides, a children’s area, children’s entertainment, festival food, arts and craft vendors, and free music.
Festival hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 18; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 20.
This year’s main stage entertainment lineup includes 6th N Main at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, the entertainment begins at 10 a.m. with Willow Gatewood, followed by Megan Doss Band, Mel Melton and the Wicked Mojos, Under New Management, Sonic Boom and Chad Nickells & Loose Change. Dirt Road Scholars will perform in the main event at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday will feature the gospel stylings of the Community Mass Choir, Unity Praise Dancers, Te-Verse, Joshua Yeatts, Vicki Wilson and the Divine Host, Sharon Motley and Abundant Life Church, Perkins and Envision, Swanee Quintet, and Luther Barnes and Sunset Jubilaires.
Entrance into the park and the concerts are free; there will be a cost for rides and vendors.
