The City of Danville today reminds owners and operators of convenience stores and other businesses with electronic skilled game machines that they cannot operate those machines without the approval of City Council.
Failure to comply is a violation of the City’s zoning code and will result in criminal charges being filed.
The zoning code requires businesses to obtain a special use permit to operate the machines. City Council has remanded several applications for special use permits to the Planning Commission until regulations can be established for indoor gaming.
When a draft of the regulations is ready for consideration, the Planning Commission will hold a work session to review the draft. City Council has the final authority on the code language.
