Amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the City of Danville’s Community Development Department has established new procedures for obtaining permits, submitting and reviewing building plans, and conducting inspections.
Contractors, tenants and homeowners should use the following procedures:
- Applications for a permit are online: http://www.danvilleva.gov/476/Forms-Applications.
- Payments can be made by mailing a check or by credit/debit card over the phone.
- Inspections can be scheduled by phone or email.
- Inspections are being conducted without contractors, tenants or homeowners present.
- Inspections can be performed remotely if a contractor or permit holder has an iPhone or iPad by Facetime. The inspection can be prearranged by scheduling with the inspector.
- Building plan submittals and reviews will be electronic.
