To support social distancing goals and recent guidance issued by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, effective Monday, April 6, Danville Transit will limit the number of passengers transported in fixed-route service at one time to nine persons, including children.
Bus drivers have been directed to stop at all bus stops where passengers are attempting to board a fixed-route bus. Transit drivers will inform passengers who are unable to board that they will be transported by a Reserve A Ride driver.
Fixed route drivers will inform office staff to dispatch Reserve A Ride buses to bus stops, and passengers who were unable to board a fixed-route bus will be transported to another bus stop of their choice for the fixed-route bus fare.
Please note passengers may need to wait up to 15 minutes for a Reserve A Ride bus to arrive at their bus stop.
Danville Transit will schedule additional drivers in service to support this service change.
