City Council will meet Tuesday, April 21, using Zoom, a virtual meeting application that will allow Council members to “attend” the meeting from their home or office.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. There are no public hearing items scheduled for this meeting agenda.
River City TV, the city’s government access channel, will air both the business and work sessions. Citizens can watch it live on cable (Comcast channel 10 and Gamewood channel 122) or streaming on the River City TV Facebook page.
Those citizens who wish to submit a general public comment or a comment for a specific agenda item may do so by visiting this website: http://danvilleva.gov/council
Under the City Council’s rules of procedure, comments are limited to 750 words, which is the equivalent of five minutes speaking, for communications from visitors, and 400 words, which is the equivalent of three minutes speaking, for public hearings.
Citizens also may submit comments by calling a public line set up for the meeting. The phone number for the line is (434) 857-3348.
Citizens can submit comments up until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 20.
The city is under a local state of emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Earlier this month, City Council ratified the emergency declaration and adopted a resolution that allows for temporary changes to how public meetings are conducted to continue operations.
The changes enable meetings to proceed virtually during this local state of emergency.
