Danville Parks and Recreation’s “Movies at the Crossing” series continues on Friday, May 21, at the Carrington Pavilion with the movie “Sing” played on the big screen. Admission is free.
"Sing" is a 2016 American computer-animated musical comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment and released by Universal Pictures. The movie stars the ensemble voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Nick Kroll, Taron Egerton, and Tori Kelly. Its characters are anthropomorphic animals, and it centers on a struggling theater owner who decides to hold a singing competition, as well as how the competition interferes with the personal lives of its contestants.
Gates will open at 7 p.m. with food available for purchase from the J’licious food truck and Kona Ice of Rockingham. Kids can enjoy games and activities. The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m.
Other movies are scheduled for Aug. 13 (“Wonder”) and Aug. 27 (“Coco”). Movie-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
