The Farmers’ Market will be open on Wednesday afternoons, with locally grown summer favorites such as corn, tomatoes and squash in season.
The afternoon hours are 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue through August. All vendors will be located outside the market.
“This is the heaviest time of the season as far as produce, so this is why we have a second day of the week for the market,” said Kenneth Porzio, program for Parks & Recreation, “We are starting to see a lot of the summer favorites come in. We have the first corn, tomatoes, squash, green beans, and other summer favorites that people are looking for.”
Located in the Community Market building at 629 Craghead St., the farmers market also is open 7:30 a.m. to noon every Saturday from May through October.
The farmers' market accepts SNAP/EBT Cards for fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, plants, seeds and more.
