UPDATE AT 2 P.M. FRIDAY: Memorial Drive has been reopened following today's repair of two unsettled areas of asphalt between Oak Ridge Avenue and Country Club Court.
UPDATE ON FRIDAY MORNING, JUNE 23:
Memorial Drive is closed today from Oak Ridge Avenue to Country Club Court to allow for repair of two settled areas in the asphalt. Barricades and detour signs are in place.
Southbound traffic on Memorial Drive traffic should use Bishop Road to West Main Street. Northbound traffic should use West Main Street to Bishop Road to Memorial Drive.
The work, which originally was scheduled to take place earlier this week but was postponed due to the rain, is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
The settled asphalt areas are a result of the deterioration of two corrugated metal drainage pipes. Both pipes were replaced earlier this month.
