The Police Department on Tuesday will host its annual National Night Out activities, with the opening ceremony being held at 5 p.m. in the Westmoreland neighborhood behind the CIC, Inc.-Head Start Westmoreland Center at 540 Holbrook St.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. The event enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, while bringing back a true sense of community.
Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
City Council members and City staff will attend the opening ceremony and then take part in activities in the Old West End neighborhood, Glenwood community, Southwyck, and Danville Community College area.
