The Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism reminds businesses that it will host an Enterprise Zone workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Businesses interested in expanding their facility or hiring new staff will receive information on incentive opportunities available at the local and state levels.
Information on the Enterprise Zone application process, tax credits and financial assistance will also be shared.
The workshop will be held at the Danville Fire Department, 600 Lynn St., from 9 a.m. to noon. Light refreshments will be provided.
“We are excited to kick off the Enterprise workshop again for the businesses located within the zone boundaries,” said Samantha Bagbey, project manager for the Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism and local Enterprise Zone administrator. “Businesses can expect to learn about how to qualify and take advantage of incentives provided by the state as well as what local options are available inside the zone.”
The Virginia Enterprise Zone (VEZ) program is a partnership between state and local governments that encourages job creation and private investment. The VEZ program accomplishes this by designating Enterprise Zones throughout the state and providing two grant-based incentives -- Job Creation Grant and Real Property Investment Grant -- to qualified investors and job creators within those zones.
