The City of Danville will host the Southern Virginia Regional Procurement Fair on April 10 to provide an opportunity for local businesses to meet with government and private sector buyers of supplies or services.
In partnership with Caesars Virginia, the Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, and Black Business Collaborative, the Southern Virginia Regional Procurement Fair will seek to educate local service businesses about the procurement process, provide networking opportunities, and showcase presentations on obtaining capital and becoming Small, Women, and Minority (SWaM) certified. The fair will also provide opportunities to meet with potential vendors, including municipalities, such as the City of Danville, and large industries, such as Caesars Virginia.
“We are excited to offer this opportunity to our local businesses,” said Samantha Bagbey, project manager. “The focal point of this fair is educating our businesses on how to obtain contracts for local government and large industries, so that they can successfully grow and broaden their products and services.”
The fair will be split into two identical sessions to accommodate schedules, 8:30am-12pm and 1:30-5pm, at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, 150 Slayton Avenue, Danville. Light refreshments will be served.
“Caesars Virginia is looking forward to partnering with additional local vendors to provide amazing products and experiences for our guests as we transition from our temporary facility to our world class casino destination resort later this year,” said General Manager, Caesars Virginia, Chris Albrecht.
“I am excited for this opportunity to educate our small businesses about the onboarding and bonding processes to working with the government,” said Director of Purchasing, Carol Henley. “This fair is a great chance to work one-on-one with our local community.”
