The Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism has selected Parking Whisperer to lead a parking enforcement strategy study.
Parking Whisperer, an advisory firm, will seek to provide implementation strategies for parking enforcement in the River District that prioritizes both Danville residents and new visitors. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
“The Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism looks forward to collaborating with Parking Whisperer in creating more effective strategies and enforcement tools to enhance the quality of life in our River District, for both residents and tourists,” said Kelvin Perry, assistant director of economic development & tourism. “Due to the exciting growth within the downtown area, this study comes at a crucial time.”
“This is an opportunity to engage with the public, area businesses, residents, and drivers of all types to work with a plan to provide ample parking for the City of Danville, which is experiencing substantial growth”, said Founder and CEO of Parking Whisperer, John Oglesby. “It is refreshing to work with Danville and build on the successes of the Economic Development team to create policies and procedures for smart enforcement and the management of drivers and parkers to guarantee free-flowing traffic and continue growing the warm and inviting city.”
The study will also identify implementation tools, including proposed parking regulations, increased enforcement efforts, and new technologies, which will work in partnership with the Danville Police Department.

The study began in March and will conclude after a 12-week process.
